Itinerary

Our Costa Rica to Nicaragua guides will pick you up at your hotel and take you to the border and help you with every step of the crossing, which takes approximately 30 minutes. The Crazy Monkey Adventure staff will facilitate the crossing and take care of all passport and visa formalities. Then, we'll start the day with a healthy breakfast.
Note: The order you see here does not mean that it is the order of the activity. Your guide and host is in charge of giving you the instructions and order to follow, but you can see part of the route you will follow.

Here you'll enjoy an incredible view of the dormant volcano's crater, Granada, and Lake Nicaragua. Walk around freely for a while before getting back on the bus and heading to the next stop.

Do some inexpensive souvenir shopping and experience the Nicaraguan lifestyle before sitting down to enjoy a typical Nicaraguan lunch.

An active volcano where you'll have the chance to stand right next to its crater and hear it rumble and spew gases, making for a rare and incredible sight.

Granada is a colonial-era city near Lake Nicaragua. Our tour from Costa Rica to Nicaragua will make a stop at the Church of La Merced, which is considered one of the most beautiful buildings in Granada. It is flanked by a large tower that houses the church bells. You will climb the stairs and reach the roof of the church. From here, you will have a panoramic view of the city of Granada, the Mombacho Volcano, and Lake Nicaragua with the islets. This is the perfect place to take pictures of the beautiful city and its surroundings.

Your last stop is a one-hour boat ride on Lake Nicaragua to see the Nicaraguan islets at sunset. Your guide will stop at Monkey Island, which is made up solely of monkeys who will come out and eat from your guide on the boat. You will then return to Costa Rica, stopping along the way to buy some snacks for the trip back home.
